With JavaScript on, passwords are generated in your browser using the Web Crypto API and never reach us. Without it, we generate them on our server over an encrypted connection and never log or store them.

Your generated password

These passwords were created on your device with your browser's secure random number generator. Nothing was sent over the network, so we cannot see or recover them, copy them somewhere safe now.

What makes a strong password

This generator runs entirely in your browser, so your new passwords never travel to our servers. Here is what actually keeps an account safe.

Length beats complexity

Every extra character multiplies the work a cracking rig has to do. A 16 character password is vastly stronger than an 8 character one, whatever symbols it swaps in.

Unique per account

Reusing a password means one leaked site unlocks every account that shares it. Generate a fresh password for each service so a single breach stays contained.

Manager plus 2FA

A password manager remembers long random passwords so you don't have to, and two-factor authentication keeps your favourite accounts safe even if a password leaks.

Yes. With JavaScript enabled, passwords are generated entirely in your own browser using its cryptographically secure random number generator, so they never reach our servers: close the tab and they are gone. If your browser cannot run the generator we fall back to creating them on our server over an encrypted connection, and we never log or store them.

Aim for at least 12 characters, and 16 or more for important accounts such as email and banking. Length matters more than complexity: a longer password is exponentially harder to crack.

Yes. Reusing a password means one breach can unlock many accounts. Generate a unique password per account and store them in a reputable password manager so you do not have to remember each one.

Turn on two-factor authentication wherever it is offered, keep your recovery details current, and be wary of phishing. Our security page covers how we protect your hosting account.
